If you own a google pixel device or any android device for that matter, you may have had an feature added to your phone that reminds you to look around while you’re walking around on your phone.

This feature is called ‘Heads up’ and will be built into the the digital wellbeing app. The digital wellbeing app is used to help users manage how much they use their phones such as setting a time limit on certain apps or mute notifications at specific times in the day. The ‘Heads up’ feature was being tested in April and was reportedly released in an update to the app which will allow It to send you notifications that remind you to look up and and be wary of your surroundings.

“Get a reminder to focus on what’s around you,” the tool will tell you.

It’s also been reported that the notifications can be switched on or off through the wellbeing app. In one of the screenshots from user Jay Prakash Kamat on Twitter, the app reminded users that “Heads Up doesn’t replace paying attention,” as well as reminder to “be careful”, “look ahead” and “watch your step”.

Are you excited to see this feature come to android? Do you hope to see something similar be implemented onto IOS devices or do you think it’s an unnecessary addition to android devices?

Let us know your opinions on the new Heads up feature!
